Grovekeepers’ letter to parents:
First and foremost, here your teen will feel safe, seen and supported
We are not a tutoring center. We are a co-learning center for teenagers studying online.
We will host your teenager Monday to Friday more or less normal ‘school’ hours, while they do their school studies through their chosen online platform.
Grove sessions – one Friday a month the school day will be dedicated to the creative arts or holistic out the box activities which will be marketed and at the parents cost if an outside professional is engaged. Here we will offer amazing opportunities with external suppliers facilitating otherwise inaccessible workshops including journaling, creative writing, cyanotype, and body mapping.
This space allows you to do what you need to do while your teen is in the safe, natural, holistic environment of The Grove, with peers for social interaction, and an invigilator or proctor to monitor formal assessments, gently hold your teenager accountable and manage outcomes through weekly visual goals and objectives and responsibilities (live online sessions) and emotional wellbeing in the process.
With peers, mentors and professionals, your teenager will have access to varied points of view, learning systems and in this process find their place in the world . They will experience flexibility with autonomy in a structured, supported way so they can develop independence and self-directed learning with guidance.
Kerry is the Grove Keeper: As a teacher in the wellness industry for 3 decades, and neuroscience coach, Kerry’s passion is to restore curiosity in the learning process, unwrap limitations perceived and why we put roadblocks in our way. She brings these skills to The Grove to nurture your childs’ emotional development, to navigate real challenges with a toolbox of life skills, alongside the formal educational process.
The peer group and Grove keeper will create companionship, social enjoyment making it more likely to succeed. We learn 400 times faster when we are in a state of play.
The Grove will aim to keep spirits up when your teen gets bored, distracted, lazy, loses sight of the end-goal or loses belief in themself.
