What each class is

Embodied Flow, 75 minutes

A breath-led practice where the movement follows the breath rather than the other way around. We work slowly enough that you can feel what is actually happening in your body, and build to standing sequences that ask something of you without rushing. Suitable if you have practised before, and suitable if you have not, because the class is small enough to give you your own version of each shape. Mondays and Thursdays at 8am, Tuesdays at 9am.

Return to Strength, 60 minutes

A shorter, firmer practice for building real strength and stability. We spend time on the shoulders, hips and core, and on the unglamorous work that keeps a body capable as it ages. Expect to hold things longer than feels comfortable and to leave steadier than you arrived. Mondays at 4:30pm and Thursdays at 5pm.

Vinyasa with Danette, 75 minutes

A flowing, more dynamic class led by Danette, linking postures in continuous sequences so the practice builds heat and rhythm. A good counterpoint to the slower work in the week. Tuesdays at 5pm.

What to bring, and what to expect

Bring a mat if you have one and wear something you can move in. Arrive a few minutes early the first time so we can talk about anything your body is carrying, an old injury, a sore back, a pregnancy, and adjust the class around it. Nothing here is competitive and nobody is watching you.

If you are starting from scratch

Most people who walk in for the first time say some version of the same thing: that they are not flexible, or not fit enough, or that they will be the worst one in the room. None of that has ever turned out to matter. A class of five means I can meet you where your body actually is on the day, rather than teaching to an average of thirty people. You will not be asked to do anything that hurts, and you are allowed to stop and breathe whenever you want to.

Where we practise

The studio is in Fourways, Johannesburg, in a quiet space that opens onto a garden. There is parking, and the room is warm in winter. If you would like to come and look at it before booking a class, that is completely fine, just get in touch and arrange a time.

Because the yoga classes in Fourways are capped at five people, places do go. If the time you want is full, get in touch and I will let you know when it opens up or suggest another class that suits you.

Happy Clients

My training is mind-blowing! I offer mentorship in a beautifully autonomous way, offering deep experiences that start with going down and in to presence in the body and spiral up and out.

Your words and guidance bring me back into my body in ways that are exciting, new and promising. Wow, thank you Kerry.
